Today we will be making a purse with compartments for cards and banknotes.
We begin with a printout and transfer the pattern to leather.
I have a crust of 1.2-1.4 mm.
Dimensions
20x20 cm is the main part
75x20 cm is for pockets
85x20 cm is for banknotes
I transfer the pattern with the help of an awl and a homemade press. The main thing is to cut precisely, so that the layers were at the same level at stitching.
After cutting, the first thing we do is to start marking and creating pockets for cards. According to the template, you need to move the notches where the cards will be located.
Punch a line.
Punch holes.
All the necessary tools are in the photo.
To create these pockets we will need:
1) a satin ribbon;
2) SAR 30E glue (using this glue, I do not do the stitching of the pockets. I don't like them, but this glue is so strong, that firmware was not needed);
3) a masking tape;
4) a card with markings of how much it will stick out of your pocket.
Adhesive tape is pasted just below the cutout for cards, thus after applying the glue we will be sure that it will not fall on the cutout and after its separation, the tape will be glued with a flat strip
So continue until the last pocket. In the end you should get this accordion
So do the same on the second half. Check that all cards stand up as it should and no pocket is glued to another pocket.
Glue our accordion with a layer that will be below. From the center make a marking under the seam, punch from the center up and down the same amount, not reaching the edge. So same from center do holes on foreign side, here importantly calculate from center or with shift, importantly that would the last hole not engulfed on the brink pocket. (In the center and on the edges we make curves of the desired diameter).
All the tools used are in the photo:
On the front side, select the more beautiful side and mark it with the number 1 on the inside.
Transfer the holes to the face, turning the left side. Although we know that the holes start from the center, I still map out the extreme points and holes on the turn.
Let's make a blank for the strap. These are two glued strips with thinning at the edge.
Both smear with glue and glue in this way. This is necessary in order that when closing the purse, the skin on the inside does not wrinkle.
After gluing, you can thin out and round off the corners a little more.
Make marks that would not forget when stitching where it will be sewn. (Believe me, strap you can forget to sew and this happens)
Before flashing the front part, you need to install the button. I do this at a distance of 2-3 cm from the edge. When installing, I use in this case the o-ring, with it the soft skin will stretch less.
I start sewing from the third hole, which would make two reverse seams.
After we go through the thread with a hammer or roller
The next stage is gluing layers of leather. Unbend and apply glue. Can be an awl or a spatula, without fanaticism
We pass the roller.
Protruding layers can be neatly trimmed with a knife.
On the cut, you can use sandpaper for a more even edge. I made it a dremel and put the glue ON. While it will dry, you can go to the second pocket
When sewing the right side do not forget about the strap
On this side, my middle layer came out higher than the others. It's either a blade to gently remove or sandpaper to fail.
After gluing and applying, we wait for complete drying. Otherwise, you just "flatten" the cut and it will not be ice.
After drying, it becomes hard and it is very easy to chamfer, even on soft leather. I did not remove the facet.
If one pass of the glue/sandpaper a little, and you can repeat
We put on our wallet completely and only so we calculate how and where to make a hole under the button
Riveted, cut off the excess. It's a matter of taste
Remove the handle, some stains and at the same time impregnate the product with chemistry. For this I have Elixir
Let's admire how it turned out!
