Want to offer a small tutorial. I think it will be useful on New Year's Eve, and you will be able to please your nearest and dearest, presenting the lasting symbol of the holiday.
Materials:
- shape
- threads
- pins
- PVA glue
- beads, sequins, buttons, bows
- glue gun
- fancy
Take the form, put on a bag on it (for the threads not to stick to it and the blank to be easier to removed). Cut off the excess of the bag. I simply fix it with a thread (it turns into an improvised carrot).
Stick pins in the bottom of the shape and on top.
Start winding the form with thread soaked in PVA glue. For convenience, I pour glue in a jar, put a ball of threads inside, make a hole in the lid to passed the thread through it and close the lid. Thus, the ball soaks itself in glue, the thread does not get mixed up and does not stain all around. Wrap tightly, but not too much, otherwise it will be difficult to remove the dry blank from the form.
Use threads of any thickness, texture, colour.
Dry the blank. I usually left it overnight near the battery.
After drying, take out the pins and remove the blank from the mold; here the extra fabric would come in use.
Then I stitch over the edge of the base to fix all threads.
The base is ready.
Decorate your Christmas tree with the glue gun and your imagination.
Thank you!
