Today I want to offer you to make a abckground for shooting imitating stones.
This photo from the Internet has inspired me:
- plywood base, I haв size 60х46 cm
- silicone molds for making stones
- white acrylic paint
- colour acrylic paint
- construction primer
- PVA glue
- acrylic varnish
- palette for mixing paints
- container for paint and plaster
The first thing you need is to cast plaster stones. Make the molds: take silicone sealant and starch, mix them, plastic dough turns out. Stick it to stones found on the street. Wait until all hardens, take out the stones. The molds are ready :)
Then dilute plaster with water, you can add PVA glue. Fill the silicone molds. Wait until the plaster hardens, take out of the blanks from the molds, pour the next batch. The mix of plaster is new every time.
Dry the stones for about a day.
While the stones are drying, sandpaper the base and prime.
If necessary, sand the bottom of the stones to make it flat. Apply primer to the dried plaster casts.
Dilute white acrylic paint with water and apply to the plywood. Leave to dry.
Then lay out the stones on the base.
Glue the stones.
Use coating applying it between the stones to make the "ground".
To strengthen the first layer of coating, mix a little primer + PVA glue + white acrylic paint.
And apply all over the surface:
And make the second layer of coating.
Select the colour to paint.
Pour white acrylic + beige color + a little black.
Paint between the stones.
Mix the main colour with two drops of black paint in a separate palette and paint partly.
Dark pain some stones.
And some stones beige.
Use different shades:
Now make the stones real by adding some new tints of colour.
Add moss and weed :)
Test it :)
A small photoshoot. Do you like it?
Sitting there like in the sun, basking on the pebbles :)
Thank you for your attention! I hope my DIY will be useful. I like the result. Write me if there are any questions.
