Today I want to tell and show you how I knit caps with holes for ears.
To begin with, find these:
1. teddy bear;
2. knitting needles #2;
3. crochet #1.5;
4. wide eye needle;
5. cotton threads.
Let’s start little by little.
To begin with, knit a sample.
I usually cast on twenty stitches and knit a pattern of about 10 rows the way I want.
Then I measure the sample with a ruler slightly stretching it.
Simple calculation follows.
20 stitches are divided into the length of the sample. At the end, you learn how many stitches per cm you have.
Now you need the little guy for whom you’ll knit the cap.
Measure the head with a tape.
Mine has 19 cm.
I calculated that there are about 2.9 stitches per cm.
Which means 19 x 2.9 = 55
I cast on 55 stitches.
Knit several rows from the forehead to ears. I worked 8 rows.
Halve the stitches. I got 27.5. Mark the middle with a thread (I marked stitch 28).
Or mark it with a pin.
Pin the blank to the little head.
You should have an equal number of stitches from both sides.
I had 7 stitches per side.
Usually I use the opposite side of the needle to find the place for the holes.
It came out that I had to cast off five stitches.
I’m writing all down.
Come to working the holes.
I’m writing what has turned out.
Knit 15 stitches, cast off 5, knit 15, cast off 5, knit 15 again.
I cast on 5 stitches in the back row, where stitches have been casted off.
Knit herringbone stitches at the front row.
Then knit the usual way, remember to fit the blank sometimes.
When a small hole in the front row is left, knit skipping one stitch, that is, decreasing.
Cut of the yarn leaving a long thread. Thread it into the needle. Pick all stitches on the needle.
Sew along the stitch. Crochet the edge.
Try the cap on and rejoice at the fruits of your labour.
We have decorated the cap. A cardigan and trousers for the little teddy need to be knitted, too )
Watch how to knit the cardigan
I hope you’ll like the tutorial.
If you have any questions, write back.
Good luck and patience to you :)
