Creating Handmade Basket of Paper Towels
- Difficulty: Easy
-
Materials: glue, acrylic paint
In this video, I'm making a basket out of my favorite paper towels again :)
So, during the work I tried to do it differently — I want to share my experience :)
At the beginning of the video I show how to weave braids for the side walls.
I wet the towels and twisted them, joining them with PVA glue.
I also increased the length.
I showed this method in the video because it was the most successful.
I made the bottom of dry braided tubes and connected with hot glue.
This technique is terribly inconvenient, so the bottom turned out not quite smooth.
There I also noticed that the braids also looked worse.
If you let the braid dry a bit, you can use hot glue.
But it is better to use PVA glue.
This technique to make the basket takes more time, but having a support in the form of a box, it is easier, because braids fall on one another and the design does not fall apart.
Before painting the outer and the inner sides, it is better to cover it with PVA glue.
I didn't do it because I was painting with a thick layer of paint.
I used acrylic paints for interior and exterior use.
From my experience, I can say that after drying, painted wipes become very hard.
Well, here I used my fishstars, which I did in the previous video.
Good luck!
