From the depths of the Altai forest, where fairy tales and legends live...
This is how you should start a story about amazing creatures that you can't even call toys. After all, they are real spirits of nature, forest and everything that surrounds us. Only they are brought to life with the help of a skein of wool and skilled hands.
The name o the craftswoman who creates these babies is Svetlana. She lives in the Altai Republic and draws inspiration from the nature of this amazing region — so her toys are usually directly related to the forest, plants and animals. Although there are exceptions, but more on this later :)
Sometimes Svetlana shares photos from her workshop, showing the process of working on a particular toy. It consists of several stages. First, future faces, paws, and decorative elements are prepared from polymer clay.:
Subsequently, the craftswoman paints these blanks, observing the general color scheme of the idea:
The body consists of wool felted with a needle. And toys often have a natural stone on the stomach:
In my opinion, Svetlana's sketches look no less impressive than the finished work:
All toys are called "keepers", and everyone is responsible for something or someone. Here, for example, are the Keepers of the forest:
And here we have the Keepers of berries:
And the Keepers of flowers:
Of course, you can not do without representatives of the animal world — owls, bees and cute pink unicorns :)
There are also seasonal Keepers. Here, for example, the spirits of autumn:
But there are also far more unusual creatures. They cherish Wisdom...
...and Secrets...
...and even Stars in the sky!
There is also a Keeper of the hearth:
And a perky little Spirit of fire:
All of them are united not only by the position of a Keeper, but also by a sincere love for nature. Just look at how they charmingly explore the world around them and enjoy the first snow!
Here they are — the Keepers of the Altai nature. Put "Like", add a post to your favorites and write in the comments, which of the kids you liked the most :)
