Making Wall Clock in Loft style
Clock is one of the best ways to decorate your wall — beautiful and functional.
Clock in Loft style may complement any interior perfectly. They are distinguished by brutality, roughness of appearance, simplicity of forms, minimalism in design.
This clock fit well into any interior. Aged look may be a nice detail in a room. This one is made of solid elm and stainless steel.
Today we will make clock from elm in Loft style. To do this, we need a stainless steel pipe, an array of elm and clockwork.
The clock is 4 cm thick. Mark the pipe and cut it with a grinder and a disc for metal.
Having cut off a part of the pipe, grind it with the 40th petal of abrasive and remove roughness.
Now prepare the blank for the mechanism of the array of elm. Align on the jointer.
Pull it through the mortise gauge before polishing.
Next, place the circle on the prepared blank and mark the place of the cut.
Saw off with a jigsaw, following the marks.
Grind uneven parts with abrasive grinder 80.
The fitting test. If there are still irregularities, process it with grinder again.
Now age the surface with wire brush. On all sides, except the ends, they should fit the pipe tightly.
Burn the wood with a gas burner.
Sand lightly with 240 sandpaper, you will get aged wood effect.
Make a layout for the mechanism. Note the center, drill a hole with a drill bit on wood Number 8.
Apply the mechanism and mark the size of it.
With a ruler mark the contour.
With a manual cutter, cut a hole for the mechanism. We will need a 10-piece grooved cutter.
With an edge cutter process the edge.
Insert the workpiece into the pipe and fasten it with furniture bolts.
Cover the workpiece with oil.
Plug in the mechanism.
Sand the hands with 240 sandpaper.
Place the hands, and clock is ready!
