Paris Fasion Week ended with a special show of Chanel collection Fall/Winter 2019/20. This collection was a farewell greeting and heritage of the great Karl Lagerfeld - the last ready-to-wear collection, created by him personally. The Maestro
As always, the fashion house surprised by large-scale props: this time the audience was able to travel back to a sunny day in the snow-capped Alps. The show began with a minute of silence, which eventually was broken by the voice of Lagerfeld. In the recording of the last Chanel podcast, couturier speaks French, but at the end of the monologue breaks into English exclamation,"Oh! It's like walking in a painting!".
Virginie Viard, the successor of Lagerfeld on the post of creative director, has prepared the final version of the show.
The younger generation of models and muses of Maestro honored his memory on the catwalk: Cara Delevingne opened the show, and the snow was finished by Kaia Gerber and Penélope Cruz.
The outfits themselves combine tradition and fashion trends: there is a lot of tweed, layering, volume knitted things, waist bags (and combinations of several bags in one look at once!), unusual cut, feathers, neon colors, embroidery, warm mukluks and ribbons in hair...
