Today I want to share a few photos of unusual aerial jewellery created by Nora Fok, a popular in Europe and America artist.
Nora creates her sculptural creations from the finest pigmented nylon monofilament, as well as from a hybrid of linen and nylon monofilaments. All her works are made by hand, using a variety of textile techniques — weaving, knitting, macrame. This is how necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets are born: ethereal fairy-tale wonders that cause fragility despite strength and wear resistance.
Nora`s decorations are often quite complex, requiring many hours, days or even weeks of work. For example, the work presented in the first photo consists of 3500 knitted spheres.
Nora lives in south eastern England and works in her home studio. She takes her inspiration from the world around her. Botanical and cosmic objects, space and microscopic structures, mathematical puzzles, secrets of nature and magic — all this inspires the artist to create her amazing and intricate compositions.
You can have different attitudes to the jewellery by Nora Fok and her work in general, but it is worth learning the ability to find inspiration from her. Here are just a few examples:
