Weaving Keychain and Dreamcatcher with Beads
- Difficulty: Medium

In this tutorial you will learn how to make a small handmade keychain in the form of a dreamcatcher with beads and jay and pigeon feathers.
You will need the following: small feathers of 5-8 cm long (I used small feathers of blue jays, and downy-covering feathers of a pigeon), a metal ring with a 35 millimeters diameter, beads of various diameters, wooden beads of different diameter, cotton yarn, glue and a charm ring.
1. First, take a metal ring and wrap it with yarn, make a knot. I used camtex cotton yarn.
2. Measure about a meter of yarn and tie one end to the ring.
3. Instead of a needle, I used a small piece of jewellery cable folded in half, as not every needle comes through the beads, and special beaded needles do not fit thick yarn. Put the cable in two beads and make a loop, as in the photo.
4. Make the first row this way. Make sure that the distance between the loops is about the same.
5. The second row starts with the first loop of the first row.
6. I make the second row with larger red beads.
7. In the third and fourth row I used one small bead for a loop.
8. No beads in the fifth row. If the spider web began to swag, it must be tightened.
9. Then just tighten all the loops together.
10. Apply the feathers (brown — pigeon, black and blue — Jay) and see what we get. If you like, then begin to attach the feathers to the catcher.
11. To do this, measure the thread, put it in a needle. At the end, make a knot. Pull the thread through the wooden beads.
12. Insert the feathers into the beads. If necessary, you can expand the holes in the beads with scissors.
13. Then use a needle to attach the feathers directly to the winding. Tie a knot (it should be located on the back side).
14. Attach all the feathers this way.
15. Then make a hanging rope. To do this, pull the needle and thread first through the wooden beads, then through the winding, then again through the wooden beads. Cut the thread and make a knot. Attach a key ring to the rope. Cut all the threads, and glue the knots a little.
Ready!
Tip: I also took Camtex threads for weaving. I advise you to take Iris, especially if it is your first dreamcatcher. Iris is thinner and easier to work with.
