New Year (and all other holidays) in Russia occurs suddenly. On the 29th of December. Well, okay, 28 :) Hence, on the Eve the crowds frantically empty stores according to the principle "PLEASE, JUST SOMETHING!!!". And it is logical that they have no time and energy and sometimes no money for packaging of this "something".
That is why I, as an enemy of such antiheartful events (and also, as an experienced person who worked 6 years in the gift sphere), publish this holiday post slightly in advance to encourage you to remember your loved ones and keep the nerves (and the budget) before the holidays.
If you read Livemaster the question "What to give?" is considered inappropriate — hundreds of craftsmen will be happy to answer it in a minute. But what can you wrap your gifts in, adding charm to them... Easy! This is what you need. Sit back and go ahead, get inspired!
1. Just ribbon
Yes, the ingenious is always simple. Not every gift, occasion and person want a bombastic packaging. Ribbon will add festivity to even the most ordinary things (like, for example, with the cake in the picture below). And most importantly, it is suitable as a great "appetizer" before the main gift and will not detract from it.
2. Instead of a postcard
If you're a fan of closed classical forms, but you don't have sophisticated skills of packing, here's the following simple version of the presentation: draw, write anything you want directly on the box. Get two in one — a postcard and decor. Believe me, this gift will be great.
3. A 9x12 photo
This option seems to be one of the most stylish and touching kinds of packaging. Put on the box a photo of the person whom you are going to give the gift. I know some houses where the whole family makes it. A mountain of gifts at a Christmas tree looks fantastic, and most importantly, it is clear whose gift it is. And for those who are not too fond of their face in the photo, I suggest to glue a card with landscapes or other objects which are memorable for the recipient, that will help to guess for whom this gift is.
4. Grass near the house
You don't want to spend money on an extra bouquet of flowers, but you really want some greenery? There is a solution! Tie a small bunch of fragrant herbs, pine needles or a cute flower right on the box.
5. Not by craft paper alone
The following option is ideal for packing gifts for friends with certain hobbies and preferences. Instead of craft paper you can take a geographical map, a music sheet, pages from a cookbook, or even clothes. This attention to detail will not remain unnoticed.
6. An extrovert gift
And for those who have nothing to hide (well, or want to impress at once), I offer to take a box not with a closed lid but with a PVC window. If you can't find it, no trouble, you can replace it with conventional packaging film, stretch it over the top of the gift. Fast, simple and juicy.
7. A big secret for a small company
If the previous option seemed to you too explicit, it is possible to lift the veil of secrecy with little flash cards. Write a small four-liner, a rebus or draw a picture. Before unwrapping gifts, you can ask the recipient to try to guess about its contents.
8. Where is the mug?
It is always difficult to give bottle. It is too explicit or banal, but anyway, people given them, give now and will give in the future. I will share with you a truly awesome way to present this difficult object. And most importantly, the recipient will be able to use the packaging at home multiple times to store some amazing Chateau.
9. A gift in a jar
Who says a gift needs to be expensive? First and foremost, it needs to be sincere. You shelves crackle because of jars with pickles? Use them as a box for your gifts, add yarn and love. Voila. You are gorgeous.
10. Each and everyone
Basket is an absolute must-have for this New Year. Especially if you are invited to a party and there is already a large company. Put your gifts in a beautiful basket and your gift will immediately look like a million. Fast, beautiful and practical. And you can be Santa Claus. Or Snow Maiden :)
11. Unusual packaging
But if you are a very creative person, then I offer you to arrange a mini-revolution for boring square boxes. Fortunately, in our modern world, there is a lot of various stuff. Pack your gift in a sock, a mitten, a bag, a pan, boots (you never know). You will laugh with the others, and they will cheer up.
12. The last sheet of the calendar
Finally, I present to you the packaging, which you will want to keep for sure! So, my absolute favorite this season is a calendar. The principle is simple: each gift/box is designed for opening on a specific day. This gift is sure to extend the holiday feeling for a month. Or you can go even further and give such a set on the 1st of December and you will make the wait shorter.
