The craftswoman Julie Campbell lives and works in Belgium. The woman graduated from the faculty of applied graphics and has devoted most of her life to illustrations, she participates in various exhibitions. However, last fall Julie decided to try something new and began to embroider by her own sketches.
The main subject in the artist's embroidery is the human body in its various manifestations. "I have always admired the human body, I even attended evening classes in anatomy and pathology," — says Julie. "I especially love medical illustrations in textbooks. And the idea for my own series of works came to me after visiting the exhibition dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the outstanding physician and anatomist of the past Andreas Vesalius."
The first embroidered work of the artist was an anatomical image of heart. "I think that embroidery is very similar to drawing, only instead of paper and pencil you use a needle and thread," — says the artist. "I don't know how to embroider "properly", I just draw the outline of the future image and start to work. I like to see how the work is born stitch by stitch."

Julie's collection also includes works devoted to birds, plants and insects:
The prepared "Prince charming" and "Mr. Love Rat" cause mixed feelings. But it's hard not to admire the realism of the sketches and the finished embroidery:
