Years go by, generations change each other, but on the eve of each Christmas, parents prepare costumes for their children. Modern moms and dads have a simpler task because costumes of almost any favourite character are sold in shops or rented. Hundred years ago, our grandparents could only dream of it. They made Christmas costumes on their own, improvised using the most improbable materials — curtains and gauze, cotton wool and foam, beads and tinsel. The costumes were a bit naive and very touching. In particularly wealthy families, they were made by tailors.
I gathered a collection of photos of adults and children in carnival costumes. Some of the images may be familiar to you. I hope, you will enjoy the carnival fashion of our grandfathers and grandmothers.
