Nature is what always inspires me, and you, I hope! Today I offer to make a dragonfly brooch.
For this you need:
- silk chiffon
- 10 beads, red and gold
- 8 beads, red
- 4-8 mm rhinestones — 4 pcs
- 3 mm rhinestones — 3 pcs
- 4x6 mm crystal beads — 2 pcs
- gold twisted thread
- pin
- 6 pins with a golden ball
- monofilament, red and gold
- embroidery floss or thin red yarn
- steel or hard 0.6-0.8 mm wire
- thin soft 0.1-0.2 mm wire
- felt
Tools:
- round nose pliers
- needle for seed beads
- scissors
- Moment Crystal glue or gel
- transparent nail polish
- hoops
The first thing is to bend hard wire for the wings. And fix it with a piece of soft wire.
Stretch silk in hoops, choose a suitable piece for the wings and carefully sew them together with monofilament. To avoid folds, I sew the the wings diagonally.
Then cut the fabric leaving an allowance.
Cover the edges with a thick layer of nail polish around the frame. Then cut at a distance of 1 mm from the wire.
Sew silk to the second pair of wings.
Apply nail polish to the cloth edge and cut the excess.
Treat the edge: wrap the cloth and embroider:
Add a crystal.
A piece of hard wire is folded in half and loops are made at the ends, make loops on the pins.
Tape the wire to a safety pin, and then the pins.
When all pins are fixed, attach the safety pin frame to the wings. Bend the extra piece of wire up and again tape.
When all details are fixed, wrap the base with floss.
To hide holes, needle the floss and sew up the gaps.
Cut out a body template.
Embroider the body of the dragonfly.
Embroider the edge.
Attach it with glue.
Embroider the body with 8 beads. Sew the crystal eyes.
Sew some gold twisted thread, fill the gaps with beads. Bend the legs.
The dragonfly is ready!
That's all, dear readers!
Inspiration to you!
Yours,
Kate Idoll
