Made in the technique friform (Fri form)
One of the most famous paintings by Claude Monet "Field of poppies" (1873) was painted in Argenteuil. The painting shows his wife Camille and his son Jean, Under the sunlight they are literally drowning in a field of colors,creating a full harmony with nature.
Monet returned repeatedly to the poppy fields in his work. He was attracted by the colorful wildflowers, the contrast of bright poppies on green grass.
