Remark of an archeological find of the 12th century mountain Knyazhaya.
This suspension bracket represents the exact copy of women's decoration of a colt.
Colt - mainly widespread in the city area, women's ornament which was suspended to a headdress. More colts from precious metals – gold, silver, also were widely adopted as well as for colts from other metals, for their ornament enamel, the equipment of common people, a skanye, grain was used. Kolta from gold and silver were mainly jewelry of the city nobility. And as their imitation, in the 12th century less valuable jewelry identical in a form and the drawing the first has appeared, however they were made, as a rule, of alloys with tin and lead and on other equipment – cast them in special casting molds.
In this case, before us the six-beam colt executed in the form of a suspension bracket. He is decorated skillful to a zernye and a skanye – these receptions have been mastered by ancient jewelers even the 10-11th centuries.
Some researchers consider that jewelry was decorated to a zernye not only from the esthetic point of view that patterns in the form of numerous circles, balls are closely connected with solar symbolics.
