Johann Himan, a resident of the German town of Seifen, hunted for a living making wooden toys. In 1699, he created a specific soldier, which he called Toothy. After loading the hand wheelbarrow with products, the master walked a hundred and fifty kilometers, getting to Leipzig.

Having overcome mountain trails and unadapted rural roads, he profitably sold all the preparations and creations in the big city. Toothpick was to the liking of buyers. Since then masters of carving on a tree began to make such wooden dolls. In America, the Toothy got in the 20th century, when the soldiers of the US army transported toys to their children overseas.

Ernest Theodore Amadeus Hoffmann was inspired by the image of a soldier and wrote a fairy tale, the main character of which was the Nutcracker. The work entitled "the Nutcracker and the Mouse king" was published in 1816 in the collection of children's tales. Working on images of children, KOMPAN was inspired by the children of a friend named Marie and Fritz. That's why the main characters are called that.
