About the icon:
Despite the fact that in Orthodoxy, material wealth is not considered a true goal of man and it is not customary to ask and to pray, but among those whom the Church considers Holy is the one who often submit requests for material assistance and stability.
Spyridon is often asked to help with things at work, with money, with the solution of the housing difficulties and other worldly Affairs.
But after reviewing his life, comes the understanding that St. Spyridon is asked in many other cases, as in Christianity, he is revered on a par with his contemporary Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker.
