An interesting example of a set of tourmaline crystals on smoky quartz is presented, as well as
crystals and their accretions of different sizes can be seen through a shiny mother-of-pearl lepidolite matrix on one side of the sample and through a calcite jacket on the other side.

The size of the joint is 54/34/21 mm
The tops of the crystals are mostly preserved.
The largest visible crystal is 13 / 2,5 mm

Rubellite (elbaite) is a mineral, a kind of tourmaline.
The name translates from Latin as "reddish" bellus)
The usual forms of separation are columnar or needle—like crystals, radially radiant aggregates.
It has a color from pink to red. The color is due to the presence of divalent manganese.
