How to keep
Silverware can darken, becoming covered with a coating of silver oxide from pale yellow to black:
– in contact with a small amount of hydrogen sulfide or other sulfur compounds;
– at high humidity;
– in poorly ventilated areas;
– depending on the physiological characteristics of the body.
You will restore freshness and shine to silver products if you wash them in warm soapy water with the addition of ammonia (1 tablespoon per liter of water) or with baking soda (50 grams per 1 liter of water), then clean with a soft cloth moistened with a mixture of chalk (tooth powder) with ammonia.
Oxidized products should not be immersed in a special cleaning solution, as the black oxide will become dull and dirty gray!!!
