Walk quietly through the forest and make no noise - who knows what sorts of curious beings you can see... What seems to be a mere a clump of moss can turn out to be a little frog-like creature, sitting on a tree stump, lost in thought. But when driven by curiousity you step too close, it hears a branch crack under your boot and disappears under the water...
The figurine is made in mixed media style, the creature itself is made from polymer clay and painted with acrylics. The swamp is made from epoxy resin and natural materials, fixed onto a wooden stand. The figurine isn't fixed to the stand, you can take it off and hold in your hands (the stand has a little secret, an almost-invisible hole in the "water" where the fairy's toe can grab for balance, so once back in place, it sits there firmly). The fairy's hair is made from dry moss, and its beady eyes are sparkling mischievously...
The swamp includes a piece of tree branch for the fairy to sit on and a lot of natural materials, with lots of natural moss, giving it a wild earthy look. The wooden stand itself is rough and wild-looking too, hand-cut from an old tree... You can almost feel the scent of water and wet soil when looking at this scene =)
This little creature can join a collection of fairies, or bring some wild energy into your house sitting on your shelf or tabletop! A perfect gift for people who love fantasy and mythology.
The figurine is inspired by Scandinavian folklore and legends of källrå, water nymphs. They live near forest lakes and springs, and can appear as a giant frog or a fairy with frog paws. Often they make themselves invisible. These nymphs can be mischievous too, and protective of their homeplace, but when humans bring gifts to the spring, they can bless the water with healing powers.
