"...This magic creature must be one of those fairy folks who live in seclusion in their unknown realms, far from the world of humans. How did it end up on the shelf of a shop of curiosities? But anyway, I decided to take it with me..."
A mixed media figurine, with many experimental details - a truly OOAK art project, not to be repeated!
The creature has remained a bit of a mystery even to me, perhaps the new owner will find out more about it? :)
The figurine is static, but some of the elements - the wings and the long tendrils - have a wire frame inside and can be shaped a little. There is a wide variety of materials used in this work, including 3 crystals of natural quartz, showing on photo 6.
The figurine can be taken out of the glass dome to hold in your hands - as always, I prefer to leave my creatures unbound. The elfstays in place by touching the glass dome with its hands and wing tips, so it looks almost like it's floating above the mossy floor (it takes a bit of practice to place it under the glass, but after you've done it it stays in place just fine :)
There are more photos from different angles - feel free to ask!
Some elements are made from a glow-in-the-dark plastic, making the figurine look even more mysterious - the creature's silhouette becomes one with the dark and the only thing you see are the glowing elements, as if floating around... The effect is visible if you keep the figurine in the regularly lit room, but you can also put it under a bright lamp for a few minutes and then turn off the light.
This figurine can be a wonderful, unique gift to those who love magic and mystery, who loves fairy folk for the wonderful feeling of touching the unknown. It gives a feeling of a strange, inhuman world if you are not afraid to discover its secrets...
