Icon with the ark " Saved Sinai"

The handmade icon on a tree "The Savior of Sinai" (Christ Pantocrator from the Sinai Monastery) was created in our workshop using the author's technology.

As a basis for our icons we use a wooden Board with an ark.
On the Board sticking linen canvas. Is applied to the canvas, the gesso, as the old icons.
On gesso transferred in a special way the image of the icon.

Then work is given to the aged look. Is an imitation of a bug, chipped wood, etc..
On the reverse side of the icon Board is reinforced with cross dowels and stamped by our workshop.

All work in our workshop is carried out manually by the master. Each icon is unique and different. Carries a Holy image and a bit of warmth peace.

About the icon; The ancient icon "Christ Pantokrator", for almost 1,5 thousand years stored in the walls of the Sinai Monastery of St. Catherine from the moment of its creation was considered not only one of the most outstanding works of art, but also mysterious, having an inexplicable property to attract the eye and even "observe" what is happening.
If you look closely at the face of the "Pantocrator", you can pay attention to the striking differences between the right and left half, which is especially noticeable in the eyes and even facial expression.
But only by adding up the mirror images of each of the halves, you can see that there are two completely different people in front of us.
This artistic technique is unique for icon painting and clearly demonstrates the hypostatic connection reflecting the dual nature of Christ, uniting the divine and the human.
Christians ask the Saint for a talisman against malice, heartlessness and meanness. The Orthodox also thank their Savior in order to find His blessing in their new endeavors..
