Embroidery "French estate", handmade, Holland.
In a frame with Passepartout.
Petit Point in French means "dot embroidery". In fact, petit point (in the common people — petit embroidery) is a semi—cross stitch with a diagonal on the reverse side, which allows you to get a fairly dense embroidery on a silk canvas (mesh). Any craftswoman can master embroidery with a tapestry stitch. Embroider according to the schemes as for cross-stitch: 1 painted square on the scheme is equal to one stitch. But the difficulty lies in the fact that petit point embroidery is performed on the finest mesh, silk or cotton threads with a huge number of shades are used. The modern color palette of threads has more than 1300 shades.
It is recommended to embroider with a magnifying glass and in good light (previously embroidered only in daylight). With the naked eye, you will see only small dots in the finished work (they can be compared to pixels), thanks to which the embroidery pattern will look clearer, brighter and as if drawn. One square centimeter of such embroidery can contain from 121 to 484 stitches.
