Tathagata (in Sanskrit and Pali - lit., "so departed" or "one who has gone beyond" is an explanatory epithet used in Buddhist mythology for Shakyamuni Buddha and for other Buddhas ("Awakened", Skt.)
Siddhartha Gautama Shakyamuni is a key figure in Buddhism. Stories about his life, his sayings, dialogues with his disciples and monastic precepts were summarized by his followers after his death and formed the basis of canonical collections of Buddhist texts.
The drawing is made in the author's mixed technique, according to the sketch in ink with pastel pencils. Linen embossed paper was used, imitating the fabric on which Buddhist thangkas are usually created (in Tibetan fine art, the image is mainly of a religious nature), gold and silver potal (in the form of "flies") was fragmentally used, giving a mystical radiance to the image. The drawing is intentionally aged. It seems that you have an authentic Tibetan scroll in your hands.
Fixing the pattern with a fixative protects it from burnout and mechanical damage.
How to keep
Despite the fact that the picture is covered with varnish finish for pastel and charcoal, the most reliable preservation of pastels - under glass and Passepartout. In this case, the pastel work can live, without losing its initial charm, for a very long time.
