Absolutely fantastic antique brass lamp-made in the style of kerosene lamps, made around the beginning of the last century - incredible beauty!
The elegant body of an unusual shape is decorated with a beautiful monogram.
The first kerosene lamp was designed by the Polish inventor Ignacy Lukasiewicz in 1853. According to his drawings, the Lviv Tinker Adam Bratkovsky assembled a lamp, and soon, its various versions, made by other masters, quickly spread around the world. The history of creating a kerosene lamp is, first of all, the history of searching for an available light source. Thus, in the ancient world, olive oil was used for lighting, the Persian scientist Ar-Razi (IX century) in his writings described in detail the oil lamp, and the great Leonardo da Vinci developed his own example of an oil lamp. In Russia, kerosene lamps appeared in 1861, replacing other lamps due to the cheapness of fuel-kerosene.
"The house needs old, even if little-needed things that pass to the children. The kerosene lamp is a touching relic, its soft Golden light takes you back to the past, when in the evenings it gathered the whole family, relatives, those you know by hearsay, from family traditions, under its circle.." Daniel Granin.
