Fedoskino caskets are a unique work of Russian masters of the end of the XVIII century. Externally, it is a small lacquered papier-mache box with a lid, which the artist paints with oil paints in several layers. A special feature of this box is-lacquer miniature painting, which fascinates with its truly intoxicating beauty and naturalness.
In the autumn of 1870, walking in the woods with his friend, Vasily Perov saw an old man lying on the ground, who was quietly whistling a pipe, luring a bird, and next to him a boy. In Russia, birds were often caught at this time, so that in winter they delighted the ear with their singing, and on the Annunciation, the birds were released. Returning home, Perov began to write " the Fowler». He remembered how, as a small boy, he had also experienced the thrill of sitting in ambush and waiting for a trusting bird to finally fall into the trap.
The technique of creating lacquer miniature paintings is strictly consistent, complex and long-lasting. It allows the image to maintain 100% of its original state, does not fade, does not lose its natural glare. Often in the work of masters used gold leaf, elements of mother-of-pearl shells. This is handmade in the original design.
