Vasily Aksenov (1840-1918) - Rybinsk merchant.
Born in Rybinsk, in a middle-class family in 1840. He was educated at home. In 1880, in the village of Nikolskoye, Rybinsk district, he built a tile and pottery factory. The plant's products received silver and gold medals at all-Russian industrial exhibitions. .
In 1900, at the world industrial exhibition in Paris, the Russian oven made of Aksenov tiles received a special prize and was recognized as the best oven in the world.
V. A. Aksenov was widely engaged in charity work. In the village of Nikolskoe he built a Church at his own expense. He was a Trustee of two parochial schools in Rybinsk and Rybinsk district. For his services in the ecclesiastical Department he was awarded the order of Saint Stanislaus second class. He died in 1918.
