Icon of the mother of God " Bethlehem"

Wooden hand-made icon of the mother of God of Bethlehem. Icon created using the proprietary technology of our workshop. All work on the creation of an icon executed by the master manually.
The icon - a wooden Board and linen canvas. On the canvas we apply the gesso in several layers with intermediate sanding each layer.
The gesso is applied the icon and polishing wax composition.
The size of the icon of mother of God 29*21 cm. Under the order possibly production of the icon in a different size and wishes of the customer.

The image of the most Holy lady of Bethlehem belongs to the iconographic type "Odigitria", translated into Russian-a guide or Pointing the Way. The type is an icon United by a single composition, clothing, and pose of the virgin and the mother of God. There are three main iconographic types, the Creator of the first icons of which is considered to be the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Luke. There are also a number of icons, authorship and writing from life, which are attributed to the Evangelist Luke.
