The icon on the wooden Board "our lady of Tikhvin" is recreated in our workshop with the help of the author's technology.
About the icon:
The Tikhvin icon of the mother of God was created by the Evangelist Luke during the life of the blessed virgin Mary. Until the XIV century the icon was in Constantinople, while in 1383 suddenly disappeared from the Blakhernae Church. According to the chronicle, the same year in Russia, the icon has appeared to fishermen on lake Ladoga near the town of Tikhvin.In the ancient Chronicles describe how in 1383 over the waters of the lake in the radiant light appeared icon of the Mother of God with the divine infant on hand carried by an unknown force through the air. Several times, the icon fell to the ground, but after this place was begun the building of the temple, the icon was again miraculously moved until stopped in a marshy place near Tikhvin.
Before the Tikhvin icon has performed many miracles and healings, not just saved it the Tikhvin monastery by the Swedes besieged the monastery for three years from 1613 1615 by year.
Every time the prayers of the desperate defenders of the Holy mother of God your intercession, helped them to rout several times larger than the enemy forces. Since then, the Tikhvin icon of the Mother of God is the patroness of the North-Western lands of Russia.
