The description of this interesting mansion is beautifully given by one blogger. Here is a short excerpt from his text.
The mansion of Derozhinskaya In Kropotkin lane, 13, some researchers of Bulgakov's work rank among the possible addresses of Margarita (the so-called" Gothic mansion of Margarita"), the heroine of the immortal novel by Mikhail Afanasevich. And though this house not so many chances to explicitly lay claim to this glorious naming, the house is interesting that it was built by the famous Fyodor Osipovich Shekhtel. This mansion evokes a quiet, clearly enthusiastic response in the soul. It is felt that Schechtel invested in his image all his tremulous understanding of modernity, but showed careful and sensitive attitude to his creation as a new cozy family nest, where it was to manifest a decent restrained prosperity and taste of its owners... at least from his point of view.
Olga Petrovskaya-Petovradzi managed to convey in her painting the impression of airiness and light.
In January 2019, the artwork participated in the exhibition "This City is Called Moscow" in the MINIMA gallery on Novoslobodskaya.
