Skladen-an icon of 2, ,3 or more parts with different saints that add up into a single whole. In Russia since ancient times was especially prevalent folding of three parts. The Central part of it was covered by two side doors.Folds were popular due to the fact that they were convenient to take with you on the road.The military often went on campaigns and used the skladen as a road iconostasis.Due to the fact that several saints were depicted on such an icon,it was possible to spread it out and pray to several saints at once, as in a Church in front of an iconostasis.The icon depicts deisus - most often called the Central row of the iconostasis. The main place in it is occupied by the icon of Christ on the throne. On the sides of it are growth images of saints. All the saints are turned to Christ, their hands clasped in prayer gestures. They turn to the Creator with a prayer for the salvation of the world on the day of the Last judgment. On the icon, the Central part of deisus is the mother of God and John the Baptist, the forerunner.
Thanks to several doors the icon can be placed on any flat surface and prayed in front of it.
This fold shows the main images of the iconostasis .The Central (most important ) Lord Almighty, flanked by the mother of God and John the Baptist -the closest to him prayer books for us.In this order, they are depicted in the iconostasis,in the altarpiece icon or painting (fresco) The compact size allows you to put it on a small shelf, and after folding the fold, you can take it with you on the road.The doors are closed with a lock, so we can freely take the icon on the road and not be afraid that the icon will be damaged.Images are made on a colorful background.The nimbus and throne of the Saviour are gilded.The figures are painted in the technique of gold-proof writing with painted gold leaf.In the photo at a certain angle of light we can clearly see the gold painting.
