Charm ''Wolf’s Cross'' 17g Weight, 35mm Length, 25mm Width. Reconstruction of the historical find.
''Wolf’s Cross'' is the second most important Scandinavian amulet after ''Thor's Hammer''. ''Wolf's Cross'' was excavated in Fossi (Iceland), dated X-XI century A.D.
This amulet comes from the Christianization period of Scandinavia when Christian and Pagan features were combined. Whereas ''Wolf’s Cross'' used to be a version of ''Thor's Hammer, it's often called ''Thor's Cross'' with a wolf head or ''Viking Cross'' or ''Olaf's Cross'' named after King St Olaf the protector of Norway.
As well as ''Sunstone'' (Iceland spar), ''Wolf's Cross'' was used in marine navigation to determine the position of the Sun even in overcast weather. ''Wolf's Cross'' provides with power and endurance in battles, protects travelers and it may be an excellent amulet for drivers nowadays.
In Sweden Paganism lasted until the destruction of the main Pagan Temple in Uppsala in the 12th century (National Museum of Iceland, Reykjavik). ''Wolf's Cross'', also called ''Viking Cross'' and ''Thor's Cross'', is an Icelandic version of Mjolnir – cross-shaped, not letter ''T''.
