This women's dickey is knitted of 100% Leonberger underfur (5 tints of the same underfur were used). The underfur is spinned with sewing reinforced thread and rubbered into 2 threads.
Dickey is a very comfortable and useful item for cold season. This scarf-collar covers neck, breast and shoulders from cold wind, and can be necessary at home when you have a sore throat or your neck is caught a draft. In such cases dry heat is needed which can be provided by the dog wool and double-cloth over the neck, and it can be achieved by the most necessary turning the dickey about the neck that it is easy to see on the presented photos.
Leonberger is a very rare dog breed, and its underfur is considered to be exclusive in its qualities. Leonberger underfur can be equal to silk by its softness. This is ideal material for the works which need to be as much soft as possible. The wool of such beautiful dog is colored by many different colors: auburn, simple red, grey, brown, cream-colored and white. Accordingly, I use Leonberger underfur of different colors too. Accurate selection of underfur can give up to five different kinds of yarn that I use for knitting. Consequently, Leonberger underfur of beige, red and brown colors can be used for knitting as for different works as for the only one. The presented fingerless gloves have five various sorts of the same yarn.
The main cloth is knitted by garter stitch. This is ideal for such item as it allows the dickey to drape itself on the neck and to sit perfectly on the shoulders. The garter stitch - a ribbing that means the accessory is unusual, has good elasticity and will fit for a neck of any size.
The work doesn't have any signs of dog wool smell, as it has two stages of washing: firstly the yarn itself is washed, then the finished work goes washing. I don't use cutted wool, only underfur.
