Star ruby is a gemstone of any color, with presence of asterism, quite simply, a shining star in the stone. Such rubies are most often opaque, however, it is possible to find and more expensive transparent star-shaped rubies.

The star effect is manifested by the presence of a six-pointed star as the pattern on the stone. Star ruby can be called any shade of red stones until pink.
