House of the Sun (irina-bast)

Hi! I'm glad to see you!
My name is Irina.
I am a full time artist because I cannot imagine spending my time without a brush in my hand, paint on my clothes, and beauty flowing out of my heart.
I prefer to use my own style in my artworks which is unique. I have my own studio in St.Petersburg where I paint on everyday basis.

I find my happiness in doing art. I created my art work place which I call the "HOUSE OF THE SUN". Each artwork is made with big inspiration and love. My paintings are full of life and joy.
The main rule: I create only in a good and inspired mood, so literally EVERYTHING is teeming with the sun and happiness.

My main subject of work is abstraction. Nature and people are also woven into the plot, they become part of the abstraction. Inspiration comes from the depths and through the observation of natural scenes and events.
Bringing joyful colors and organic forms together I create vibrant energy on the canvas, so it transfers in a space where it's going to live.

I see a blank canvas and feel the need to fill it with my ideas and thoughts transforming its empty space into something special.
I love abstraction and the fact that everyone perceives it differently. It brings me pleasure to see how people relate to different shapes and colours, and interpret them differently.

I have education from School of Contemporary Art. Also, I studied in Russian University of Psychology and received a master's degree in psychology and art therapy.

By now I have participated in several exhibitions in Russia and Europe. The most significant for me are the Art Week in Venice and Lisbon and the Affordable Art Fair in Hong Kong.

I participated in several Russian competitions and became a winner. I have three publications in international art magazines.

My artworks are found in many private, municipal and corporate collections around the world.
