Beadwork has been my passion for more than twenty years. I might say that all my life is “playing with beads”. After graduating from the Arts College since I was nineteen, I worked for many years in a museum. There I could see a lot of beautiful antique things and I always wanted to create something beautiful and unique. I tried knitting, crocheting, embroidering, wood carving, jewelry, ceramics, panting, sculpture. But only in beads I can express all my emotions and feelings.
I do not use existing schemes. Every work I create is unique and authentic. I mastered practically all techniques existing in modern bead work. Last year I got interested in glue mosaic, inlaiding with beads and sequins.
In 2010 I created bead dolls. It took my several months to make each doll. But creating a character you can reveal all the possibilities of beads. use and combine different techniques, express emotion. In my dolls “ Seasons of the Year” I wanted to transfer my feelings and associations about the seasons.I presented these dolls at different art shows like “The Bead Weekend” in Prague in 2011, the First Doll Festival in Costa Brava, Spain in 2012.
My greatest achievement was Grand Prize at Kiev Exhibition of Arts and Crafts in 2012 where I was invited by Yuri Shamanskiy.
Bead work for me is not just a hobby, it’s rather a way of living. Like Lord has created our world from tiny particles, I use bead specks to create my own world, my own universe. I’m happy when my works are sold. It means people need and appreciate what I do. My works can be found not only in Russia, but in the USA, Canada, Spain, Singapore. Besides beads, I am fond of working with polymer clay. I am trying different materials and techniques all the time.
