Konnichiwa!
Welcome to Japanese garden!
Here you can find some vintage and antique items from Japan, real, authentic, handmade. All fabrics, kimonos, haori, yukata, and michiyuki are handmade from real antique silk, which also was woven and dyed (or dyed and woven, depending on the silk)), embroidered, and painted by hand.
These are mostly items from the Meiji period (1868-1912), Taisho period (1912-1926), and early Showa period. There are no items created after 1930, because it was a time of wars. Expensive fabrics and natural silk become an unaffordable and unacceptable luxury.
As a rule, fabrics, kimono and haori are from the Meiji period, except meisen silk.
Why? Because I like textiles created slowly and with love, as it was done for centuries, before the twentieth century. Fabrics are incredibly beautiful, some of them no one can create now - some technologies have been lost, and, that is more important, time has become such a expansive that no one can spend several months creating a single kimono.
However, despite their advanced age, all these things can and should be worn. All items here are in good, or excellent condition. Of course, the more festive a thing is, the less often it is worn, nothing has changed here in our world.
Of course, all items are processed before they are shipped from Japan, but if something doesn't seem clean enough, I will clean or wash them before they are on display.
If you have any questions, or you are looking for something special-write to me, I will be happy to help.
