Norns are the goddesses of fate in Germanic-Scandinavian mythology, endowed with the gift of determining human and divine destinies. Norna Urd is the oldest, symbolizing the past. Verdandi is an average, looking like a beautiful middle—aged woman. It symbolizes the present. The youngest, Skuld, is a symbol of an uncertain future.
